How Suez Uses HGVC to Save Over £145,000 on Their Training Costs.
I have always wanted to get into a driving role, but a lot of companies needed you to already have your licence or prior experience, but SUEZ offered me the break I needed when they offered me this opportunity. The course was very informative, and I have gained an invaluable HGV licence. I can now assist with driving work outside of my previous job and there are opportunities to advance my career and increase my income. I’m so proud of myself for achieving my licence, it has boosted my confidence hugely.
The Suez recruitment team decided to upskill its current staff to meet their demands for a new municipal contract they had won, and the company opted to outsource to specialist training company HGVC, for a fully managed service making use of the HGV Skills Bootcamp.
Owing to the potentially negative impact of heavy goods driver shortages on the UK economy, the Government introduced the HGV Skills Bootcamps at the end of 2021, an initiative designed to help deliver high quality driver training for companies and individuals in order to fast-track the closing of this key skills gap.
As the partner chosen by SUEZ to help resolve their driver shortage, HGVC was able to deliver the entire training programme and, crucially, guide SUEZ in maximising available government subsidies to minimise the impact on the bottom line, saving them 70% on their training costs.
