A pivot steer forklift, commonly referred to as a flexi or bendi forklift, is a versatile machine designed for efficient operation in narrow aisles.
Unlike traditional counterbalance forklifts, pivot steer trucks feature a unique articulated mast that allows the machine to pivot at a 90-degree angle.
This flexibility enables operators to navigate tight spaces and access pallet racking more easily, maximising storage capacity.

This course is designed for individuals with no experience of forklift truck operation who wish to achieve a nationally recognised operator qualification.
Course completion and certification allows drivers to operate a counterbalance forklift with up to 5000 kg lifting capacity.

Legally an individual does not need to hold a license to operate a pivot steer, but individuals will be required to undergo basic training to operate a pivot steer forklift safely and efficiently.
Also, in the UK, under PUWER regulations, it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that staff receive suitable and sufficient training in order to operate a pivot steer forklift safely and effectively.
The training an individual receives sets the benchmark against which the employer will be judged in the case of an incident that is investigated by the HSE.
It’s recommended that operators undertake refresher training every 3-5 years.
