We cover both pedestrian-operated and ride-on powered pallet trucks. The course can be tailored to include specific models used by your business.
Legally an individual does not need to hold a license to operate an electric pallet truck, but individuals will be required to undergo basic training to operate a powered pallet truck safely and efficiently.
Also, in the UK, under PUWER regulations, it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that staff receive suitable and sufficient training in order to operate an electric pallet jack safely and effectively.
The training an individual receives sets the benchmark against which the employer will be judged in the case of an incident that is investigated by the HSE.
It’s recommended that operators undertake refresher training every 3-5 years.
